I began my sewing and design journey at the age of nine. Beginning with simple alterations, I quickly expanded into costuming for friends and family, dresses for high school dances, then historical clothing for period events. This past decade, my work has been focused on beautifully fitted clothing for everyday life. My goal with Aconite Clothier is to bring the luxury of well fitted garments to people in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area.

Custom work brings the opportunity to develop each clients unique ideas. From a vision in their head, I develop a tangible, wearable garment which is flattering and fitted to their unique body.  This sets my clients free from frustrating and discouraging struggles with the fashion industry. The often unrealistic, unflattering reality of mass produced clothing and limited sizing can never account for or truly fit the myriad variations of the human form.

I work closely with my clients to bring their vision of that perfect garment to life in a way that harmonises with their individual body shape and proportions. Each custom order includes a minimum of three in-person meetings: the first for design and taking measurements, then two in-process fittings before the final fit check. Extra fittings are available as required.
